Fifty hours across six modules, from how capital markets work to equities, bonds, forex, commodities and crypto, with demo trading on MetaTrader 5.
This course provides a comprehensive, practical introduction to global financial markets. We start with the foundations of capital markets, including risk and return, market structure, regulation, and the role of major US and international exchanges.
Equity markets: types of shares, trading mechanics, the bid-ask spread, going long and short, indices, ETFs vs. mutual funds, valuation and earnings. Bond markets: pricing and yields in Excel, Treasury auctions, corporate bonds and ratings. Forex and commodities: FX arbitrage, leverage, hedging, futures, and key concepts like contango and backwardation. We link all of this to real-world economic indicators and instruments, including options and CFDs.
Finally, we cover digital assets through the CFA lens: distributed ledger technology and blockchain, proof of work vs. proof of stake, permissioned vs. permissionless networks, smart contracts, DeFi and tokenization; plus direct vs. indirect crypto investment vehicles, stablecoins, CBDCs, NFTs and security tokens. We use MetaTrader 5 as the platform for leveraged trading and short-term profit taking.
